Debates on climate science are often ideological, involving self interests and with little regard to possible impacts. In discussions among authors who have already published articles on the subject of environmental policy at various platforms, the idea came about that articles on the subject could be gathered at a common platform, one that could be open for articles and contributions from additional authors and readers.

Ökowatch strives to have environmental demands made by governments and non-governmental organizations viewed critically and examined closely, free of ideology, in order to determine the impacts these demands would really have on people, society and environment.

• Soundness: Just how sound is the data basis behind the environmental policy demands?

• Total impact: What are the positive and negative impacts of individual environmental demands?

• Transparency: Which special interests are behind organizations and single persons? Who finances the various special interests?
